G4 and F4 hydrofoils are so-called uptip L-foils.
The retractable rudders are T-foils.
The daggerboard foils of these two boat types are very strong, they lift the complete weight of these cruising racing yachts. Thanks to our unique production process, the foils can lift these 40 and 46 foot sailing yachts including kitchen, toilet, 6 beds and a spacious seating area above the water.
Base material: the G4 and F4 hydrofoils are made of carbon pre-preg. With our unique ‘one-shot’ production process, we manufacture all our continuous fiber foils, cured under vacuum in our Autoclave.
The specially developed production method creates a hydrofoil that cures in one go, without glue joints and including internal stiffening ribs. The result is a super-strong hydrofoil that is as light as possible.
A fully automatic electric/hydraulic controlled foil-rake system has been developed for the G4. By means of a 6D-girosensor, foil height and daggerboard and rudder actions are automatically carried out for the sailing team. The main advantage of this is that fewer manual actions are required from the crew.
The production of the G4 and F4 foiling multihulls was entirely in the hands of DNA Performance Sailing. The design of the daggerboard foils and rudders for both boat types also came from the creativity of the DNA team.
